CONFIRMATION

As our young people enter the 6th grade, the opportunity to profess their faith and become members of the church is offered through confirmation classes. Confirmation is offered to all youth, 6th grade and older, as they feel called to serve the church. The Senior Pastor and the Director of Age Level Ministries conduct the classes. The group is confirmed during an 11:00 service followed by a reception in their honor.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

The youth have a separate Sunday School class setting versus the Sunday evening program. Led by 2 wonderful teachers, the youth explore the bible in relation to today's world.

MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

We provide opportunities for our young people to serve not only the church and community but the state's mission needs and opportunities as well. The youth do several different types of service projects. These include things such as cleaning and painting rooms within the church, and preparing meals as a fundraiser for youth mission trips to places like Alaska, Mississippi, and other areas. Our youth participate in the Habitat for Humanity trips, providing child care to the families from our church and actually working onsite as carpenters and painters. Several of our youth tutor at the Presbyterian Community Center. We take part in the national hunger event of Souper Bowl Sunday as well as the annual Clean Valley Day in Roanoke. We have planned and held a vacation bible school for innercity children. We provide a program annually for the COP program of Trinity UMC. We are always exploring the numerous possibilities for our youth to be actively involved in helping others.
