A Roanoke native, began work in ministry with children and youth after the birth of her daughter, Melissa. With a background
in Geriatrics healthcare, Debbie’s ministry soon grew to working with all ages. Small group development,
Sunday School, mission opportunities, building use, nursery, youth group and community relations are her
focus areas, with a special interest in working with those less fortunate.

Debbie’s personal interests include: movies, music and dance, and getting together with friends and family

Areas of involvement:

  • Trainer for “Safe Sanctuaries” through the Virginia Conference of the UM Churches
  • Serve on Roanoke District leadership training for UM churches
  • Wedding Coordinator for church and upon request outside of church
  • Chairperson of the Old Southwest Congregations in Action
  • Coordinator for the annual “Blessing of the Schools”
  • Active volunteer for the American Cancer Society
  • Member of the Roanoke Valley Leadership Council, 2014 chairperson
  • Member of the Advisory Council for Office on Aging
