District Superintendent Speaks at Noon Service Today

Rev. Kathleen Overby Webster, Roanoke District Superintendent, The United Methodist Church, will speak at the Wednesday Noon Service today, 12:05-12:30. Her message is titled, “Have You Met the Risen Lord?” and the scripture text is John 21:1-14.

During prayer time we will especially lift up Stephanie Moon Reynolds, Roanoke’s City Clerk. Stephanie is the person who keeps all paperwork and official records for the City Council meetings and takes care of arrangements for the members themselves.  All the public meeting notices come from Stephanie’s office and she’s the City’s official record keeper for all things.  She has a small staff of about 5 or 6 persons.  Her office gets lots of citizen requests for information.  They handle plenty of irate citizens.  They also coordinate a lot of interesting events and activities of the Mayor and members of City Council.  Stephanie is appointed by the City Council.  She is a long time employee of the City.

Lunch is available following the service for a suggest $6 donation. Today’s menu:  Cheesy Vegetable Chowder or Lentil Soup, Breads and Crackers, Fruit Tray, and Black Forest Dump Cake.
