Children

Nursery

A nursery is provided for infants through two years old every Sunday morning for early service at 9:00 am, Sunday School, and our 11:00 am service. We have a child care staff so our youngest church-goers will have a familiar face every Sunday. The staff provides a safe and loving environment for our babies and toddlers. We ask that you sign your child in and let us know where you will be in the event your little one becomes upset. We have three cribs, age appropriate toys and wonderful rockers to provide your child with that extra TLC!

Childcare Needs

We do provide child care for our members for events held at the church . We do request prior notification of child care needs so we can provide proper child/adult ratio. The child care is provided by our Nursery staff and trained senior high youth.

Sunday School

We are presently using the curriculum “Rock Solid” from Cokesbury for our four year old through the fifth grade classes.

,Children’s Mission Opportunities

We provide local mission opportunities to our children’s ministry program. We collect school supplies, make placemats for the prison ministry, collect food for the food bank and introduce other local mission needs as they arise.

We also have taken an active role with the Heifer project and the Society of St. Andrew.  The children continue to collect money to raise funds to purchase animals for families through the Heifer project. 

Children’s Music Opportunities

Our children’s choir is being re-established. Our children will begin the season with one choir and a choir chime group.

Creative Arts Summer Camp

We began this camp this year.  This is a week long camp experience for children to learn the “arts” in the Roanoke Valley.  We had music, ceramics, photography, crafts and more.  Look for details of the 2012 camp.
