This Sunday, May 8, is Mother’s Day and Debbie Brown, Director of Discipleship, is leading the 9 and 11:00 worship services and has designed a worship experience honoring mothers.
The message (by Debbie Brown, Sean Barker, Beth Snead, and Katie Haley) is “Motherhood” Then…Now…To Be. The scripture, Deuteronomy 4:9-10, will be read by Larry Musselwhite and Carol Heaton, mother of Rev. Gary Heaton. Barry Hensley will lead the Psalter at 11:00 and the choir will sing “Make Me a Channel Of Your Peace” (Prayer Of St. Francis) by Sebastian Temple, arranged by Martin Neary.
We welcome C. W. Markham who will be our organist during the month of May. He is playing “Preamble” by Richard Lloyd, for the Prelude, “Chorale Prelude on Ode to Joy” by Charles Callahan for the 11:00 Offertory, and the Postlude is “Festive Procession” by Paul Bryan.
Bring your mothers, grandmothers and the whole family and join us for worship this Sunday!
9 But take care and watch yourselves closely, so as neither to forget the things that your eyes have seen nor to let them slip from your mind all the days of your life; make them known to your children and your children’s children—10 how you once stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when the Lord said to me, “Assemble the people for me, and I will let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me as long as they live on the earth, and may teach their children so”; Deuteronomy 4:9-10
