Worship with us this Sunday, October 25, at 9 or 11. Rev. Gary Heaton’s sermon is titled, “Music of the Night” and the scripture text is Job 42:1-6. Reading the scripture this Sunday at 9:00 is Mollie Snedegar and at 11:00 Krystal Vaught.  Barbara Thomas will lead the Psalter at the second service. The anthem by the Chancel Choir at the 11:00 service is titled, Amazing Grace” (by John Rutter). The gathering music by Richard Cummins at 11:00 includes Improvisation on the Gregorian Chant “Adoro Te” from Suite Médiévale by Jean Langlais; Moravian Hymn Variation: “Jesus Makes My Heart Rejoice” by Robert Elmore; and Rondeau  by Henry Purcell.

 

Then Job answered the Lord: 2“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted. 3‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.4‘Hear, and I will speak; I will question you, and you declare to me.’ 5I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you;6therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”   Job 42:1-6
