Rabbi Chana Leslie Glazer, from Beth Israel Synagogue, is the speaker at the Wednesday Noon Service today at 12:05. Her message is titled, “Mercy in Anxious Times” and the scripture text is Exodus 34:6-7. During the service, we will pray for Jane Conlin, the Director of Human Services and Social Services for the City of Roanoke. Jane’s very large department oversees the public assistance services provided by the City of Roanoke, most of which are programs set forth by the Commonwealth.

Worshipers are invited to leave a donation in the basket in the narthex. Every penny of the donations received goes to help RAM House in its work of providing support for those in need of food, warmth, and shelter.

Lunch is available in the social hall immediately following the service for a suggested $6 donation. The menu: Onion Soup, Sliced Meats and Cheeses, Breads, Fruit Tray, Chips, and Ranger Cookies.

The Lord passed before him, and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, 7keeping steadfast love for the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, yet by no means clearing the guilty, but visiting the iniquity of the parents upon the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”   Exodus 34:6-7
