We have new office hours! We will now be open Monday - Thursday from 9am-2pm and on Fridays from 9am-12pm.

EASTER OFFERING: On  Easter Sunday, April 21, a special offering will be taken to benefit the outreach ministries here at Greene Memorial.  This church has a reputation in the Roanoke Valley as a leader in mission to the community.  Please be generous in your support of our outreach programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Group Work Camps for Youth, RAM, Kids Soar, Crib Ministry, Highland Park School Backpack Program, Summer Feeding Program for Roanoke City Schools, Family Promise.

Greene Memorial Scholarship: Applications will be accepted through April 20, 2019. If you are graduating this year from high school, you qualify for a scholarship from Greene Memorial. You may get your application from Debbie Brown. Deadline is April 20th.   

The UMW Evelyn Byrd Circle will be supporting two Salvation Programs throughout 2019: the new Day Center on Dale Avenue and Turning Point on Salem Avenue. A tub for Circle donations to these programs will be designated on alternate months in the Donation Nook.

During the month of April we will be collecting for Samaritan’s Inn. A list of needs is located in the Donation Nook.

Communion to Community Ladies: We are continuing our discussion on “Root Shock” by Dr. Mindy Thompson Fullilove. Our March discussion was wonderful. Join us for an in depth look at Roanoke’s urban renewal and its effect on the people of the Gainsboro community to this day. We will meet April 25 at 5:30pm at Calvary Baptist Church. Bring a drink and/or snack.

Fine Arts Series Concert at Jefferson Center, Shaftman Hall, on Sunday, May 26th at 7 PM. The concert will feature the newly founded young adult choir of the Roanoke Valley, The Voices of Appalachia, presenting a large variety of music, ranging from classical to contemporary choral music and arrangements of popular songs. The Greene Memorial Choir will join for the second half of the program, presenting a “preview” concert of the music that will be performed at Carnegie Hall on our New York City trip in April 2020.

New York City Bus Trip: April 2020 Trip includes accomodations, transportation, tickets to a broadway show, tickets to a concert at Carnegie Hall (where our GMUMC choir will be performing.)
