Reverend Philip Waltz

Philip and Katherine Waltz have been married for 37 years and are excited to be moving to Roanoke to be in ministry with the people of Greene Memorial and the Roanoke community.  Philip holds an A.A. degree from Del Mar College, a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice from St. Edward’s University, a M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary, and a J.D. degree from Texas Tech University School of Law, and was ordained and has served congregations in Virginia since 1994.  He has served on a variety of Conference boards and District committees. Philip loves worship and teaching, and, around the house, enjoys cooking. Katherine holds a BSN from UTMB-Galveston, a MSN from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and a MBA from Averett University.  Katherine enjoys serving God behind the scenes, gardening, and being with her grandson. Philip and Katherine have two adult children, James and Hannah, and one grandson, Benjamin.  Katherine’s parents will be living with them in their home in Roanoke, and Philip’s mother resides in New Philadelphia, OH.  Philip’s father was killed in Vietnam.
